Could the Minnesota Wild be a first-round playoff sleeper? Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov has breathed new life into this team with his stellar goaltending. They could be a good option for your NHL picks if you’re looking at upsets – even as early as Tuesday night.

The Boston Bruins Can Win Because…
They’ll be more rested. They’ve been off since Saturday afternoon while the Wild have had a hectic schedule in that time. They played Saturday night in against Pittsburgh, then flew to Winnipeg for Monday’s game and then came home for Tuesday’s affair. That’s a tough stretch with three games in four nights.

The Bruins have dropped two of three but on a greater scale, they’ve won 16 of 19. They should be able to take care of the Wild, who are 17-20 against teams with a winning record this season.

The Minnesota Wild Can Win Because…
Bryzgalov is arguably the best goaltender in the NHL right now. He’s now 6-0-3 over his last nine outings with three shutouts and just 16 goals allowed. He has given the Wild second wind after all of their goaltending issues this season. They’ve now won four of five and are making a hard charge towards the playoffs. With teams like St. Louis, Chicago and Anaheim laboring to end the regular season, they might be vulnerable to a hot team like Minnesota.

The Wild come into Tuesday’s matchup with plenty of confidence. They’re worth a look for your sports picks – especially as a big dog.

Outlook & Pick
Under is the way I’ll go in this one. Minnesota could easily cash as a home dog here as Boston has stumbled recently. However, the quick turnaround concerns me as the Bruins will be better rested.

Instead, I’ll take the under. The Wild – and Bryzgalov – have allowed no goals in two straight games. They haven’t seen more than five goals in four straight either.
