This NHL handicapper examines Wednesday’s NHL game between the Boston Bruins and NY Rangers, including a money line selection which is supported by a very successful betting system.

Battle of “The Original Six” at MSG
The New York Rangers will entertain the Boston Bruins on Wednesday at 8:05 PM ET. The game will be televised nationally in the United States on the NBC Sports Network. According to the NHL betting odds at Bookmaker, the Rangers are a -140 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. These teams have met once this season, and Boston skated away with a 3-0 home win on that occasion.

Bruins have the Rangers Number
Since the start of last season, the Boston Bruins have won all four of their meeting versus the New York Rangers. As a matter of fact, the Bruins have gone 8-1 in their nine encounters with the Rangers. The Rangers are coming off home wins over Florida 6-3 and Carolina 4-1 in their previous two games. They’ve gone a dismal 2-8 during the past two season following two or more home wins in a row.

Starting to play to Expectations
The Bruins are finally starting to resemble one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference after being a bit lackadaisical at times during the first half of the season. Boston has won eight of their last ten heading into tonight’s game. The Bruins star goaltender Tuukka Rask has been extremely sharp over his last four starts, compiling an excellent .960 save percentage during that time. The Bruins will be facing a team (Rangers) tonight that has allowed their opponents to convert on 17.8% of their power play chances this season. Boston has gone a terrific 31-9 the last three seasons, versus opponents that allow 17.5% or more of power play opportunities against them to be successful.

Final Analysis
The Bruins enter this contest having won four of their last six games overall. This will be only the third game in the last fourteen days for Boston. These factors set up a very profitable money line betting system that I will take advantage of when making my NHL picks for Wednesday.

Any money line road underdog of +100 to +150, coming off winning 4 or 5 of their previous 6-games, and this will be their third game or less in the last ten days, has seen that road underdog go 35-16 (68.6%) during the past five seasons.
