The Weigh In
The Canucks host the Kings on Saturday night at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with the opening face-off slated for 10:05 PM ET. According to NHL betting odds the Kings are a -130 money line road favorite and the posted total is 5.0.  The Kings have won their last 4-games versus the Canucks. These teams have seen just 2 of their last 10 meetings go over the total. The Kings are currently 3rd in the Pacific Division and 6th overall in the Western Conference. The Canucks are 5th in the Pacific and 10th overall in the West.

Playoff Chances Hanging by a Thread
The Vancouver Canucks had an excellent chance of forging themselves back in the playoff race when they began a 5-game in 14-day home stand last Saturday. However they’ve squandered the opportunity by losing the first 2-games of the home stand, and have put themselves in a very difficult position in regards to their playoff chances. Basically the Canucks need to win their remaining 5-games of the regular season, and then hope for a lot of help from other teams. They last played on Tuesday and were a 3-1 loser at the hands of the New York Rangers. Vancouver has gone a dismal 10-25 against the money line this season versus opponents with a winning record. They’re also a futile 12-33 versus the money line on the season versus opponents that average 29.5 or more shots on goal per game. Unfortunately for the Canucks, their opponent this evening (Los Angeles) qualifies in both of those categories.

Kings of the Road
The Los Angeles Kings enter tonight’s game at Vancouver having won 8 of their last 9 road games. The Kings are also a terrific 10-1 in their last 11-games versus an opponent with a losing record. They’re coming off a 2-1 loss at San Jose on Thursday, and that defeat was just their 2nd in the last 9-games. Like they’ve been for the majority of the season, the Kings are the best in the NHL allowing a paltry 2.1 goals per game, and they’ve also shutout the opposition on 12 separate occasions. They’ve seen just 5 of their last 30-games versus Pacific Division opponents go over the total, and just 12 of their last 61-games overall surpass the number.

NHL Betting System
Any road team that’s -100 to -150 on the money line in the month of April, and they’re coming off a road loss, has gone 68-30 (69.4%) over the last 18 seasons.
