We’ll examine today’s NHL game between Montreal and Florida in this NHL betting preview article which includes a NHL totals betting system that’s won 78.1% of the time since 1996.

Canadiens in South Florida to take on Panthers
The Florida Panthers will host the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday at 7:35 PM ET. According to the NHL odds at Bookmaker, Montreal is a -120 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.0. This will be the first meeting of the season between these Eastern Conference teams. They split their four meetings last season, and none of those contests went over the total.

Both Teams playing Exceptional
The Montreal Canadiens are coming off a 3-1 win at Carolina last night. The win was their 3rd in a row, and 6th in the last 7-games. That contest was just the 4th time in the last 22-games that Montreal had stayed under the total. The Canadiens are slated to go with backup Dustin Tokarski this evening after #1 goaltender Carey Price played last night. Tokarski has been a more than an adequate fill in when called upon this season. He’s appeared in 7-games including six starts, has compiled a solid .914 save percentage, earned two shutouts, and saw just one of those six starts go over the total.

The Florida Panthers enter tonight having won their last 2 and 4 of the last 5-games. They’ve also won 4-games in a row on home ice. Florida will go with Roberto Luongo in goal tonight. Luongo has seen just 9 of his 27-starts (33.3%) this season go over the total, and has compiled a stellar .920 save percentage in those outings.

NHL Money Line Betting System
The Canadiens current 3-game winning streak has seen them win by 2-goals or more in each of those contests. The Panthers current 2-game winning streak has seen them win by scores of 4-3 and 6-4. The combination of this data creates a superb totals betting system which I’ll rely on when making one of my NHL picks for Tuesday.

Any team (Montreal) coming off 3 wins in a row, and each of those came by two goals or more, versus an opponent (Florida) which has seen both teams scored 3-goals or more in each of their previous 2-games, has resulted in 25 of those 32-games (78.1%) going under the total since 1996.
