The Boston Bruins Can Win Because…
They’re in the midst of their longest winning streak of the season. The Bruins have won five straight as their offense has been lighting it up. The Bruins have scored at least three goals in each of those wins while averaging 4.4 goals per game in their last eight. The reason for their success is mostly just getting more pucks at the net. They’re averaging a league-best 37.1 per game since the Olympic break. When their offense is scoring like that, they’re nearly impossible to beat.
Montreal has dropped three of four and just doesn’t have the same type of momentum. Stick with the Bruins for your sports picks here.

The Montreal Canadiens Can Win Because…
They own this series. They’ve won both meetings with the Bruins this season and five straight in this series. The last time they faced the Bruins, they chased Tuukka Rask halfway through the game. They’ve outscored them 6-2 in the two meetings.
The Bruins are just 10-11 when on the road with a total of five and just 4-5 in their last nine against winning teams. They don’t deserve to be such a big favorite on the NHL odds in this one.
Outlook & Pick
It’s hard to add Montreal to your NHL picks these days when you consider that – as head coach Michel Therrien puts it – the team’s most important player, Carey Price, is a question mark. Peter Budaj has been filling in and he’s got a .852 save percentage this month and has allowed 17 goals in his last five outings, which includes Saturday’s game where he was pulled in the second period. The Bruins offense is too hot right now to bet against. Unless Price is back, bet the Bruins.
