Oilers vs. Golden Knights Prediction, Picks & Best Bets for Tonight's NHL Game
The Edmonton Oilers roll into Sin City for Tuesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights (10 p.m. ET, ESPN+) on the back of three consecutive wins.
They've also won seven of their last 10 and might finally be awakening from one of the most prolonged and frustrating Stanley Cup Final hangovers.
Consistency has been hard to come by lately for the Golden Knights, who've lost four of their last eight and are 1-3 at T-Mobile Arena in the previous four after winning eight in a row to start the campaign.
Both teams are Stanley Cup odds front-runners, but the visiting Oilers enter the game as favorites. Our Oilers vs. Golden Knights prediction backs Connor McDavid to earn his paycheck in the City of Lost Wages.
Oilers vs. Golden Knights prediction
Odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale.
My best bet: Connor McDavid Over 3.5 shots ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: -106 via Betway | Implied probability: 51.46%
McDavid usually performs admirably under Las Vegas' unrelenting bright lights, especially in shot production. In five of his last seven games in Sin City, the Oilers captain fired at least four shots on goal. He averaged 6.6 shots per game during that span, including two eight-shot outings and a seven-shot encounter.
He isn't as productive in Alberta's capital against the Golden Knights, but I'm banking on McDavid's T-Mobile Arena effervescence to take center stage.
While his vivacious Vegas vibes are one of the primary reasons I'm drawn to this prop, his historical success in the real city that never sleeps (sorry, New York) isn't the only reason to pull the trigger.
McDavid has at least four shots in four of the last five contests, and his overall production has increased since linemate Zach Hyman has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
McDavid also shoots on sight palpably more in enemy rinks, firing at least four on goal in seven of nine away encounters, excluding the game in Columbus when he got injured in the opening minute.
Since returning from injury, he has hit the Over in five of six away games. A winning $10 bet will profit $9.43.
Oilers vs. Golden Knights player prop bet
NHL picks made Tuesday; odds subject to change.
Evan Bouchard prop bet: Over 0.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: -143 via Betway | Implied probability: 58.85%
Bouchard has pulled up his socks recently and is starting to contribute more consistently on the scoresheet. He has eight points in the last five games, notching at least a point in all but one.
I would back Vasily Podkolzin to notch at least a point, but Betway doesn't offer that particular prop. They offer Podkolzin to score (+500), but expecting him to light the lamp in four straight contests might be one hurdle too many for the first-year Oiler.
A winning $10 bet will profit $6.99.
