The Flames are returning from their five-day break Monday against the Coyotes, who have teamed with Calgary to produce eight 'unders' in their last 11 meetings. Handicapper Dana Lane is on another hot streak and will explain why the 'under' trend will continue.

2016-17 NHL Season Record: 61-47 (+19.20 Units)

At this point, we just should stand at the betting window because we're cashing just about every suggested NHL wager this month.  On Sunday, the Boston Bruins easily handled the Montreal Canadiens, giving us another win and units high mark for the season. We are now 8-3 in of February.  Tonight it's back up to Canada as the Coyotes and the Flames clash.

I'm always the first one to tell you to stay away from teams that have impact players coming back from injuries, and that holds true except in one scenario: when the backup netminder gets a start. Louis Domingue will get the start for the Coyotes, and because part of handicapping is determining which players might come in with some added inspiration, we're financially willing to back Domingue despite his poor season.  Domingue hasn't started a game since Dec. 5 but is saying all the right things: "It's good to be back in net and to prove myself, prove to my teammates I can do the job". When I hear the word "prove," I think 'under'.

Arizona is among the worst defensive teams in the league, but as the trade deadline approaches there will be some teams looking to get their hands on Martin Hanzal, who managed to keep Sidney Crosby in check. It's safe to assume that if Hanzal can handle Crosby then he should have very little problem with Sean Monahan.

The Flames, who are 9-4 in NHL betting their last 13 games, are holding an optional skate Monday morning, which means routines might be off a little, but with the Coyotes coming to town head coach Glen Gulutzan probably figures this is a good time to give some guys the option of taking the morning off if they need to.  Again, a change in routine could lead to sloppy play, but in this case I'm not sure Arizona has the weapons to take advantage of turnovers.

Talk about inspiration: Brian Elliott will go for his fourth straight win in net for the Flames.  Elliot has had trouble wrestling the job away from Chad Johnson, but with a solid effort here Elliott may create some space between the two.  Two motivated goaltenders in net for teams that aren't very good offensively and it's looks like the 'under' is cashing another ticket for us.
