Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides his NHL Report for the hockey card taking place on Tuesday, October 25. Dallas could be without as many as 7 regulars in their lineup tonight due to injuries, does that add value to Winnipeg? Find out which one is the better hockey pick.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars

This is a wager that is much more of an anti-Dallas sentiment than a pro-Winnipeg one but the spot is a good one for a max focus and intensity effort from the Jets on the road against an injury-riddled Dallas Stars team that right now has so many personnel absences that they are very vulnerable especially when laying a price.

Dallas lost 3-0 in a shutout at home against Columbus on Saturday night and injuries played a major part in that performance. Dallas could be without as many as 7 regulars in their lineup tonight due to injuries: Jason Spezza, Patrick Eaves, Cody Eakin, Ales Hemsky, Jiri Hudler, Patrick Sharp and Mattias Janmark could all miss tonight's game. That is a deluge of injuries that the Stars have to overcome. When asked about his team's injury situation, head coach Lindy Ruff simply said: "Oh God, I don't have time for that" which speaks to how bad it is.

Dallas is also starting backup goalie Antti Niemi tonight who is the weaker of their two goalies between him and Kari Lehtonen so it should give the Jets a chance to score some goals tonight. On the flip side, Winnipeg is coming off a 3-0 loss to Edmonton in the NHL Heritage Classic outdoor game on Sunday and will be looking to respond.

Many Winnipeg players have talked about the importance of improving their record within the division which was porous last season and a major reason why the Jets were not a playoff contender. Winnipeg captain Blake Wheeler: "Yeah, they're big games (division games). We didn't do a good enough job in our division last year, and ultimately, if you want to achieve any of your goals, you have to have success within your division." I think Winnipeg is a very live dog tonight against an injury-depleted Dallas Stars squad, so take them as your hockey pick.
