There are four games on the NHL card on Wednesday night. We’ve got our two top NHL picks here for you.

Washington Capitals vs. Philadelphia Flyers

The Capitals and Flyers went head-to-head on Sunday when the Caps blew a two-goal lead only to lose 5-4 in overtime at home. Now the Flyers will play host as they try to sweep this home-and-home series.

Those who bet the NHL odds know that the Flyers have been really streaky this season. However, right now they’re on a positive streak with wins in six of their last seven. On Tuesday, they bolstered their lineup by acquiring defenseman Andrew MacDonald, who should help their cause.

The Caps are also playing well as they are 4-0-1 in their last five. The Caps also made a move on Tuesday as they acquired Dustin Penner to help with their offense.

-135 seems like a reasonable price for the Flyers here but both teams are playing well and the Caps should be hungry for revenge. Instead, I’ll bank on the over for my NHL picks as seven of the last 11 meetings have gone over the number.

Pick: Over 5.5 at Bovada

Montreal Canadiens vs. Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks were busy on Tuesday with trades, but the NHL’s best team was subtracting, adding only Stephane Robidas. They traded away backup goaltender Viktor Fasth and Penner. Now they’ll host the Montreal Canadiens, who are in the midst of a four-game west coast road trip.

We’re not certain of Carey Price’s status but he is eligible to return for Wednesday’s affair but I still like the under. Anaheim probably wins the game but the juice is too high. I expect a low-scoring game after the Ducks traded from their offense and bolstered their defense. On top of that, the under has cashed in two straight meetings and is 13-8 when the Habs face a team with a winning record this season.

Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog
