There are just four games in the NHL on Wednesday and we’ve got coverage on all of them. Check out the Pittsburgh-Montreal preview, which is separated into its own full article, and below we’re taking a look at the other three games on the card:

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Philadelphia Flyers

This is the makeup game from Tuesday, which was postponed due to snow. The extra day off will benefit both teams as Tuesday’s affair would have been a third game in four nights for both sides. The two teams have gone cold this month as the Flyers have lost four of six while the hurricanes have lost three of four.

The Flyers are the better team here and they are at home. They’ve won 21 of the last 32 at home in this series. Since they’re not costing me an arm and a leg, I’ll take a shot with them.

Pick: Flyers -117 at Matchbook

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings are a paltry 4-12 at home this season in games where the total is 5.5. Detroit has also lost six of nine overall and will be without lead goaltender Jimmy Howard for this one. However, this is a rematch from last year’s Western Conference semi-finals and the Red Wings will likely have revenge on their minds.

Chicago is a big road favorite in this game and it’s a little too rich for me considering they’ve dropped three of their last four on the road. Instead, I’ll lean to the under with my NHL picks. The under is 11-5 when the Red Wings are at home with a total of 5.5, 10-4 when they play teams with a winning record and 11-2 in the last 13 in this series.

Phoenix Coyotes vs. Calgary Flames

Two struggling teams meet up in this one as the Flames have dropped 15 of 18 while the Coyotes have dropped 13 of 18.

Ideally, you’d take the Coyotes with your NHL picks because they just crushed the Flames 6-0 at home just 15 days ago. However, the Coyotes also have a loss in Calgary this season and have lost five of their last six trips there.

Instead, I’ll go under. The Flames aren’t scoring much these days as they’ve scored two or less and a total of 11 goals in their last eight. As for the Coyotes, they’ve only tallied 12 goals in their last seven.

Pick: Under 5.5 at Bovada
