After a one-game card on Tuesday, the NHL returns with a vengeance with 13 games on Wednesday. We have four of them previewed with three games down below and the Philadelphia-Tampa Bay contest separated off in it’s own article.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. New Jersey Devils

I’m going to add the under to my NHL picks in this game as the Devils have not been playing in many contests that have topped the five-goal mark (which is where the total is at in this game). Looking back over the last 13 games, the Devils have played in a game that’s seen more than five goals just once. On Wednesday, they’ll host the Hurricanes, who have scored the third-fewest goals in the NHL this season. I think we’re looking at a low-scoring affair here.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at Bookmaker

New York Rangers vs. Florida Panthers

How about a little love for the Florida Panthers? They are playing their best hockey of the season these days with a short-but-good 3-1-1 stretch. Included in that stretch is wins over Philadelphia, Vancouver and Colorado. The Rangers are just 3-4-0 in their last seven and I’m not sure they deserve to be such a big favorite on the NHL odds. I’ll take a short with the Panthers.

NHL Pick: Panthers +126 at Pinnacle

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Calgary Flames

The Flames can’t seem to stop anyone from scoring these days as they’ve given up an average of 3.75 goals per game over their last 12 outings. On Wednesday, they’ll host a red-hot Blackhawks team that’s been tearing up everything in their path. They’ve scored 13 over their last three games.

Blackhawks netminder Corey Crawford is expected to get the night off, so we should have less than stellar goaltending on both sides. That means I’m add the over to my sports picks.

NHL Pick: Over 5.5 at Bodog
