It will be a quiet night in the NHL on Wednesday as just three teams are in action. We’ve got a quick rundown of two of the games that you’ll see and the third contest, which is a matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars, can be seen in a separate article on SBRForum.com.
Record: 33-38 (-417)
Boston Bruins vs. Montreal Canadiens
The Boston Bruins visit the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday and while the NHL odds for this game are at a virtual PICK, I like the under in this contest. Neither team is particularly high scoring and both goaltenders are red hot right now.
For the Habs, Carey Price has won six straight starts and has a 1.70 GAA on the season. As for Tuukka Rask, he’s 5-1-1 with a 2.10 GAA on the season. The Bruins have allowed two goals or fewer this season five times while the Habs have allowed the fewest goals in the NHL's Eastern Conference. Take the under.

Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche
The over/under for the Colorado Avalanche-Anaheim Ducks game on Wednesday sits at a flat five, which is a bit surprising. Neither team is particularly strong on defense and neither team has a standout goaltender. Has the door been left open for us to a total play?
We’re expecting to see Jonas Hiller in net for the Ducks on Wednesday night and while he is a former All-Star, he hasn’t been sharp this season. He’s posted a 3.54 GAA along with a .871 save percentage. As for the Avs, goaltender Semyon Varlamov has been so-so on the year, winning just three of his eight starts while posting a 2.50 GAA and a .915 save percentage. However, he’s lost four of five while posting a 3.50 GAA in the process.
I am adding the 'Over' to my NHL picks tonight – especially since the total is lower than what I was expecting. I think it should be at 5.5.
