Wednesday night features just four games in the NHL and we’ve got three of them covered below.

Also, make sure you check out our daily hockey videos where you can catch some more analysis and predictions. Today’s featured video provides a preview and free NHL picks on the Boston-Pittsburgh affair.

Boston Bruins @ Pittsburgh Penguins

The Bruins are worth adding to your sports picks here based on value alone. They swept the Penguins in the Eastern Conference final last postseason and they appear to be a better team since then. Meanwhile, the Pens have lost three of their last four.

Yes, this is a revenge game for the Penguins but the price is too high. This game is a coin toss yet the Bruins are listed as a reasonably-sized road dog against the NHL odds. Take the value with them.

FreePick: Bruins +126 at Pinnacle

Detroit Red Wings @ Vancouver Canucks

Something has happened to Detroit’s offense as it has completely disappeared. They’ve scored just five goals in their last four games and the scary part is that all of those were at home. If they can get the motor going at home, can we really expect them to crank it up on the road? Take the under in this spot.

Free Pick: Under 5.5 at Bovada

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Calgary Flames

The Maple Leafs won last night in Edmonton (4-0) and have now won three of their last four. However, a trip to Calgary in a back-to-back situation while laying plenty of juice makes me a bit uncomfortable. The Flames have yet to lose in regulation at home (3-0-1) and the home crowd should give them a big boost. Prior to last night, the Leafs had lost two straight on the road while looking pretty flat in both contests (in Chicago and Columbus). As a home dog, the Flames are worth adding to my NHL picks.

Free Pick: Flames +115 at William Hill
