We're just hours away from the start of tonight's hockey action. Which spots in the NHL betting do we think have the best value?

Major Movement

The line in the Washington/Winnipeg game has seen some significant movement in terms of the hockey odds throughout the day.

The Capitals opened at a price of -170 but have been getting hammered. They can now be found as high as -200 to get the win at home over the Jets, who are in desperate need of a win to stay in playoff contention.

There has also been a shift in the Florida/New York line, with the Panthers going from +190 to +205 at some sportsbooks

The Penguins have locked up their playoff spot and are giving rest to some key pieces, but that hasn't stopped them from winning.

Winners of eight seven in a row and a ridiculous 21-2-0 over their last 23 games overall, Pittsburgh has been storming through every obstacle in their way, setting them up nicely for a great run in the playoffs once they get the likes of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin back and fully healthy.

The Penguins entertain the Sabres, who have been eliminated from the postseason discussion. They're 6-4 over their last 10 but have lost their two most recent matchups coming into tonight's game.

Mike Richardson doesn't expect Pittsburgh's momentum to be slowed in the slightest, forecasting a 3-1 win for the home team here. That would mean a play on the puck line, offered up by NHL odds makers at +130, could be the best way to get your bang for your buck.

The Flyers are out of the race but will try to finish out the regular season with some positive performances, especially against a rival like Boston. Current NHL odds have Philadelphia in and around the +130 area on their home ice.

Though the Bruins have clearly been the better team throughout the season, David Lawrence likes the value that's presented with a play on Philadelphia

The Flyers have been able to win three of their previous four games, thanks in large part to an offense that has woken up in a big way. They've totaled 16 goals in those four contests and will try to do inflict similar damage against Boston.

Easier said than done. The Bruins are third in the NHL in goals allowed (2.1) so the Flyers are going to  need to make the most of their chances to have any shot of the upset in front of the fans.

Lawrence's Picks of the Day

His first pick is on the Islanders to win by two or more goals at a price of +215. Few teams are hotter in the league right now, as they've won six of their last seven coming into this meeting with Carolina.

The Hurricances appear to already be looking ahead to the offseason, having gone a very poor 2-7-1 over their last 10 games. No wonder Lawrence is on New York here.

Next up is a play on Calgary as they tangle with a struggling Predators team in Nashville. With the Preds losers of eight in a row, Lawrence is siding with the hotter team in the Flames to cover as the +130 underdogs.

To wrap up his NHL picks on the day, Lawrence is rolling with the other New York to get a convincing win as well. He likes the Rangers on the puck line (+135) to win over the Panthers, who have lost six straight.
