There’s a full slate of hockey action on Tuesday night with eight games on the card. Which games have we decided to focus on with our NHL picks tonight?

For those of you who don’t have GameCenter, some of the games will be broadcast on TV with Nashville Predators-Minnesota Wild game being featured on NBC Sports and the Edmonton Oilers-Montreal Canadiens being featured on RDS. Speaking of the latter contest, we’ve got a full preview for you in its own article with the three more previews and free picks below.

Washington Capitals vs. Winnipeg Jets

At this point, I’m not comfortable having the Jets in my sports picks for any reason. On Tuesday, they are hosting the Capitals, who have yet to win a road game (0-2-0) and I’m still going to bet against the Jets. That’s because they’re coming off a home loss to the Nashville Predators, which was their fourth loss in their last six home games. They can’t score consistently these days as they’ve scored two goals or less in five of their last seven.

The Jets just aren’t worth your money at this point and since we’re getting the Caps as a dog, I’ll take a shot with them.

Pick: Capitals +105 at Pinnacle

Nashville Predators vs. Minnesota Wild

I’m going to take a flier with the Predators in my NHL picks on Tuesday simply because the price is too good to pass up. They’ve won two straight on the road and four of five overall. As for the Wild, they have lost three straight while scoring exactly one goal in each of those three games.

The Wild are laying -150 on the NHL odds and that’s too much given the trends of both teams. One of the reasons why the price is so high is because the Preds are playing their third road game in four nights. However, it’s still early in the season and they are playing pretty while right now. I’ll bank on that continuing.

Pick: Predators +134 at Pinnacle

Vancouver Canucks vs. New York Islanders

The Canucks fell short in their bid to upend Pittsburgh on Saturday and then came out flat in a 3-1 loss to Columbus on Sunday. However, I still like their chances in Long Island on Tuesday.

The Isles have been a bad team lately as they’ve lost four of five. Some of those defeats have been especially embarrassing, such as a home loss to the Buffalo Sabres. I like Vancouver’s chances to get back on track on Tuesday.

Pick: Canucks -105 at BetOnline
