The NHL has nine games on the schedule for Tuesday night highlighted by the New York Rangers-Philadelphia Flyers contest, which will be featured on NBC Sports Network. We’ve got that game singled out in its own preview while our daily picks for the rest of the card are down below.

Record: 94-102 (-332)

New York Islanders vs. Washington Capitals

I’ll be straight up about my NHL picks on this game and tell you that this isn’t a great play but it’s a game that I think is still worth considering. I like the New York Islanders as a road dog in this spot as the Washington Capitals have been a questionable team all season long. Both squads have 31 points and while Washington has won three straight, the Isles have won four of five on the road and have been a good road bet all season long.

Why this isn’t a big play for me is because the Caps come into this game on a winning streak and have won six of the last eight meetings they’ve hosted. Still, I just feel the value is here getting +127 with the Isles. Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov is 11-1-2 with a 2.19 GAA against Washington, so the Isles should have a reasonable shot to win this game.

NHL Pick: Isles +127 at Pinnacle

Calgary Flames vs. Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks have lost two straight and are now just 3-4 in their last seven, but I see them getting back on track on Tuesday. The NHL odds of -200 is too much juice for me to lay but I’ll lay the puck line with the Blackhawks.

The Flames are terrible on the road as they’ve lost nine straight away games. Five of those six losses have been by more than one goal. The Blackhawks have also lost two straight at home, which is particularly uncommon for them, but a meeting with Calgary is just what the doctor ordered.

NHL Pick: Blackhawks -1.5 +140 at BetOnline

Florida Panthers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

The Florida Panthers are having a tough time scoring these days, so I’m expecting a low-scoring affair when they visit Toronto on Tuesday. Each of the Panthers last four games have seen five goals or less, and the Panthers have tallied just one goal in their last two games. They’ve faced Toronto once this season and were shut out 3-0 on February 18th.

The under is 9-4 when the Panthers are on the road with a total of 5.5 and also 9-4 when they face a team with a winning record. For the final of our free picks, we are offering bettors a play on the under.

NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at Bwin
