There are just three more days of NHL games to before the 2014 Winter Olympics freeze. We’ll see a full slate of games on Thursday as 11 of the 22 teams are in action. Here’s our look at the card along with three NHL picks:

Winnipeg Jets vs. Washington Capitals

I’ll take the Jets with my NHL picks here as they continue to play well while the Caps continue to struggle. Washington is coming off a home loss to the New York Islanders, which was their fourth home loss in five games. Overall, they’ve dropped 10 of 13.

As for the Jets, they enter on a three-game winning streak and have conquered nine of their last 11. They’re only a couple of points out of a playoff spot, which is what they seem focused on. As a dog on the NHL odds, I’ll go with them.

Pick: Jets +120 at Bookmaker

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

The Leafs have lost three straight on the road but they deserve more respect than this. They’ve won nine of 12 overall and are scoring at a torrid pace (3.83 per game). As for the Lightning, they’ve lost three of four overall – including a loss in Toronto – and have dropped five of their last seven at home. While they should be favored in this one, they shouldn’t be laying -165 on NHL odds.

Pick: Maple Leafs +145 at 5Dimes

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Los Angeles Kings

You want me to lay how much with the Los Angeles Kings? Really? They’ve lost four straight and nine of 10. They’ve scored just five goals in their last six games. On top of that, they’re hosting a Columbus Blue Jackets team that’s won three straight and 11 of their last 14 games. I’ll take a shot with the dog.

Pick: Blue Jackets +135 at SportsInteraction
