It’s on to Thursday night in the NHL where a total of 22 teams are in action. Oddly enough, it’s the business night of the week.

NHL Betting: Thursday Picks

Here’s a look at our three picks off the card:

Record: 60-69 (-690)

New Jersey Devils at Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have a bit of momentum but count me in as one of the skeptics. They have won four of five – including a 4-2 win in New Jersey – but all of that came on the road. After a five-game road trip, they might be a bit flat-footed in their first contest at home.

The Devils might also put a little more focus into this game as they might be out for some revenge. Take the Devils as a dog on the NHL odds.

Ottawa Senators at Boston Bruins

The Ottawa Senators are projected to have the red-hot Ben Bishop in net on Thursday night, which means the under is the way to go. Bishop has won four straight starts while giving up just six goals in those outings, so he comes into this game with plenty of confidence.

Boston is a solid defensive team as well with a stellar goaltender in Tuukka Rask. Rask has a skinny 1.89 GAA this season. We’ll rely on the two goalies to take us under in this one.

NHL Picks: Under 5

Minnesota Wild at Phoenix Coyotes

The Minnesota Wild are not a great road team but they’ve been playing well recently. They’ve won three of four and now head to Phoenix as a road dog. I understand why the line is where it is for this game but I don’t think there’s much between these teams. The standings would say as much as only one point separates them.

Seeing Phoenix as a -140 home favorite seems a little too rich for me. They are only 6-4 at home and are fresh off a three-game west coast trip. I think Minnesota is worth the price of admission at +128 for our hockey picks.
