Our NHL betting consultant takes a look at his top two hockey totals for Wednesday: Boston Bruins vs. NY Rangers and San Jose Sharks vs. Calgary Flames.

Boston Bruins vs. New York Rangers 8:05 PM ET
These teams have met just once this season this season and it resulted in a 3-0 home win for Boston. The Rangers enter today’s game with a winning percentage of .604 and the Bruins are at .540. This data fits perfectly into a betting system pertaining to the total, and we’ll lean heavily on this handicapping variable when making our NHL picks for Wednesday.

Any home team (Rangers) in the second half of the season, that’s playing with same season revenge stemming from a loss by 3-goals or more, and has a winning percentage of 600 to .700, versus an opponent with a winning percentage of .510 to .600, has seen that home team go under the total in 52 of those 75-games (69.3%) since 1996.

NHL Hockey Picks: Play on the Bruins and Rangers to go under the total of 5.0
