It’s a busy night on the ice this Thursday with 9 games on the NHL betting menu. We’ve rounded up our 3 favorite picks with full write-ups. Hopefully we all cash in and make it a profitable night.

Montreal Canadiens vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
Odds:
Canadiens -140
The Montreal Canadiens have won two straight and have been playing pretty well overall in the last couple of weeks. They are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games and are paying out bettors in dividends and are still being competitive in their losses.

On Thursday, they’ll be on the road in Columbus facing a Blue Jackets team that is absolutely miserable these days. The Blue Jackets have lost three straight games – one of which was a 3-1 defeat in Montreal and they can’t seem to keep their opponents from scoring. The Blue Jackets give up the fifth-most goals per game in the NHL this season at 3.08 whereas Montreal is among the league leaders. Carey Price has a .945 save percentage in February and has only allowed 10 goals in his last eight starts.

The Habs own this series as they’ve won four of the last five meetings overall, including two straight in Columbus. They’re the better NHL pick in this spot.

St. Louis Blues vs. Winnipeg Jets
Odds:
Blues -117
The Winnipeg Jets are having all sorts of goaltending issues as they’ve given up a whopping 3.27 goals per game this month. That ties them for the fourth-worst number in the NHL. That could be trouble as the St. Louis Blues visit on Thursday as the Blues are one of the highest scoring teams in the league. They are currently fifth in the league, averaging 3.02 per contest.

The Jets don’t play particularly well against teams with a winning record as they are only 9-20 in that role this season (lost seven of nine to winning teams). The Blues have dominated this series as they’ve won five of the last six meetings, including two of three in Winnipeg. And the Blues are 7-3 on the season when on the road with a total of 5.5, so I’ll take them with my NHL picks to get the job done here.

Vancouver Canucks vs. Buffalo Sabres
Odds:
Canucks -205
The Canucks goaltending has been hot and cold over the last month, but right now it’s hot as they’ve stifled back-to-back opponents. The Canucks have given up just one goal in those two contests and they should be able to do something similar against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday – especially with the potential of Ryan Miller facing his former team.

The Sabres are coming off a win in Columbus and while they scored four goals in that game, they don’t usually score that much. They had scored a total of 13 goals in the nine games prior to that “outburst”. The under is 8-1 in their last nine games and I expect another under to come through tonight.
