10 games in the NHL on Saturday night with a number of contests starting early. Half the games will start at 5:30 PM ET or early while the remaining will start as usual. Here’s our top NHL picks.

Minnesota Wild vs. Colorado Avalanche
Odds: Wild -135
The Minnesota Wild are on a roll right now as they’ve won 12 of 15 games and are streaking towards the playoffs. They continue to gain confidence as they went into Nashville on Thursday and got a win, which is not something many teams have done this season. The Predators had only lost four times in 30 home games.

The Avs are a mediocre home team as they are just 16-15 in front of their own audience. Goaltender Semyon Varlamov has not played well recently as he’s given up 13 goals in his last three outings. His counterpart, Devan Dubnyk, has a .935 save percentage this month and has allowed just six goals in his last four starts. Take the Wild as a NHL odds road favorite in this spot.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Montreal Canadiens
Odds:
Canadiens -240
The Montreal Canadiens are playing very well these days and much of that has to do with goaltender Carey Price. Price has gone 13-1-1 with a 1.31 GAA in his last 15 starts, one of which was a 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs are a mess right now as they’ve already started traded away parts of their team. They know that the next couple of days could be a firesale, so the players aren’t going to go all out. The offense has been sluggish for Toronto recently as they’ve scored seven goals in their last two games but had just six in the four games prior. As a result, they’ve seen five goals or less in five of their last six games. We’ll look for that to happen once again on Saturday.

Ottawa Senators vs. San Jose Sharks
Odds:
Sharks -155
The Ottawa Senators appeared to have been decimated by injuries at the goaltending position as they’re without their top two men but rookie Andrew Hammond has come in and played phenomenally. He has a 0.75 goals against average during the team’s four-game winning streak and he’s posted back-to-back shutouts on the road in Anaheim and Los Angeles. He’s only given up one goal in his last three games.

On Saturday, Hammond and the Sens will be in San Jose, facing a Sharks team that’s coming apart at the seams. San Jose has lost nine of their last 12 games and has been absolutely pathetic at home. The Sharks have lost six straight at the Shark Tank and have basically tuned out head coach Todd McLellan, who is likely to get fired soon. The Sharks have scored just 14 goals in those seven home losses.

That being the case, we’ll go under with our NHL picks in this one thanks to the Sharks offense and Hammond’s recent play.
