There are seven NHL games to bet on this Sunday, mostly dominated by NCAA Basketball's Selection Sunday. Even so, we’ve got our usual NHL picks ready to go for the day, so read on below.

Philadelphia Flyers vs. Ottawa Senators
The Philadelphia Flyers broke out with seven goals on Saturday but that crooked number is by far an aberration than it is the norm. Prior to that, the Flyers had been averaging just 1.67 goals per game this month, which is among the worst in the NHL. They had scored a total of just 10 goals in all of their other games combined this month.

They might have a tough time scoring on Sunday as they prepare to face the Ottawa Senators and their red hot goaltending. We’re likely to see Andrew Hammond between the pipes as the rookie has been nothing short of fantastic. So far, Hammond is 9-0-1 with a 1.44 GAA and a .954 save percentage this season. He hasn’t allowed more than two goals in any of his 10 outings so far and has allowed a total of just 10 in his last eight starts.

I’m expecting the Flyers offense to deviate back to the norm thanks to the Sens and their goaltending and for us to see a low-scoring affair. Take the under with your NHL picks here.

Boston Bruins vs. Washington Capitals
The Bruins are on a roll right now as they’ve won five straight and seven of their last eight. The main reason for it is that Tuukka Rask has caught fire of late as he’s allowed two goals or less in seven of his last eight starts. Usually the Bruins go as he goes, which is why the team is thriving these days.

Washington has hit a bit of a slump these days as they’ve lost three of four and six of their last nine games. Their offense has disappeared as they’ve averaged just 2.7 goals per game in that span. While that number doesn’t seem too bad, consider that they’ve scored 15 goals in the three wins, which means they’ve scored just nine goals in their last six losses.

With the momentum on the Bruins side right now, I’ll take a shot with them to win on the road. Opening NHL odds favor the Capitals -134 on the Money Line.

NHL Hockey Pick: Bruins

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
NHL Money Line Odds: Blue Jackets -140
I’m going to stick with momentum in this one as this is a matchup of two bad teams. The Hurricanes had played reasonably well from the middle of January to the end of February, but in the month of March, they’ve resorted back to the bad team they’ve been the rest of the season. Entering Saturday, they had dropped five of their first six games in March, giving up at least three goals in every contest. On the hole, they allowed 21 goals in those five games.

On the other hand, the Blue Jackets have won three straight and four of five. One of those wins came in Carolina on March 10th as they outlasted the Canes in a shootout. For this meeting, they’ll be at home and I think they’re worth the price of admission – especially since the Hurricanes are going to be in a back-to-back situation.
