If every dog has his day. That was the case in the playoffs last night as three of the four who were NHL picks ended winning their contests, with Blues and Ducks in convincing fashion.

Hump Day hockey will have a lot of intrigue, because the outcomes of three of the contests will most likely shape the direction of the rest of the series. I have already covered in further detail Dallas at Minnesota here at sportsbookreview.com and have two other NHL picks along with prop hits to look for this evening.

On my playoffs selections, I am mediocre 14-10-1, -2.67 units, frankly being stubborn on a couple teams which has hurt me, that stops immediately. However, if you been on the aforementioned underdogs, you are up +4.57 units with a 14-12 record. Let's tackle a couple more NHL odds and some props for this evening.

Islanders More Resilient and Receiving Better Goaltending
Both Florida and New York needed yesterday off, having played three intense playoff games in four days, the latest in OT, both clubs were spent. The Islanders head into Game 4 with 2-1 lead and have a couple aspects in their favor which could provide a commanding lead.

The Panthers have deeper roster and should be controlling this series, yet they are not. New York still has banged up players who cannot participate, but those who can play continue to show courage and the spirit of never giving up.

In all three games Florida has scored first. In the series opener, the Panthers had three different one goals leads but could not hold them. In Game 3, New York was down 2-0 and 3-1 yet came back to even the confrontation at 3-3 and won in OT.

The Islanders are playing like a team that has not won a playoff series since 1993 and is willing to do whatever it takes. Most would not discuss it, but Panthers goalie Robert Luongo has never been considered a big game performer and while all these New York comebacks are not on him, he is the last line of defense and not doing the job, period.

At last look, Heritage had the Isles as a -106 favorite and they are a 33-16 after allowing three or more goals in consecutive games.

Washington Is First Team to Advance to Next Round
Philadelphia had the ideal setup in Game 3, down 0-2 in the series, at home and honoring the legend who started the franchise Ed Snyder. Instead, the Flyers became the only team in the first round of the postseason to be facing a 3-0 deficit. Check the betting odds for this match to help you with your pick.

Strong or weak special teams play will not determine every outcome, but in this series they have stood out like Michael Strahan leaving "Live" for "Good Morning America". Philadelphia has two goals in the series and none have been via the power play, now at 0-13 in the series.

Washington on the other hand has dominated when having a man advantage and gotten plenty of opportunities as the Flyers have reverted back to their – Broad Street Bullies – days, dropping the gloves at every chance and taking one silly penalty after another because of lack of discipline and frustration. The Capitals have taken full advantage of Philly's stupidity with eight power play goals in 17 tries.

It was known going in Washington was the better team but with Philadelphia emotionally unstable, hard to imagine they overcome 1-11 record after losing back to back game by two or more goals, as the Caps bring the brooms.

Stanley Cup Prop Possibilities
Washington 3-Way Line - minus 135
As listed above, unless the Capitals do not show up, cannot see how they could possibly lose. They are the superior team by a good measure and are just crushing Philadelphia with special teams play. Cannot come up with reason Washington plays even ordinary game they do not win in regulation.

Dallas 1st Period -0.5 Spread - +177
The Stars I would imagine have to be thoroughly disgusted. Having a 2-0 lead in the series and 2-0 lead in Game 3 against crippled club from Minnesota and lose the game, that is not championship determination. Fully expect Dallas to come out with blazing speed, attack the Wild with utter abandon and have working margin after first period and collect a nice payout.
