For Sunday, the big board has seven choices in hockey with betting odds and with a mixture of good and bad teams lined up for actions. What is the best path to follow for successful results?

Sometimes there are no easy answers to follow. For today's NHL picks I will be looking at a one team playing into triple revenge on home ice and my guess is this team wants to punish this opponent. In another, a road club has been dominant and is set up to keep roughing this foe. And lastly, we have a superior squad with quick turnaround revenge.

Having won five of our last six against the NHL odds, we will be after similar results today.

Chicago Has Plenty to Play for Against Minnesota
Chicago (42-30 SU) ended their four-game losing streak in style by whipping 4-0 Winnipeg, but still has quite a bit of work to do to catch Dallas and St. Louis in the Central Division, trailing them by five and three points respectively.

However, the Blackhawks has to focus on the task at hand which is defeat Minnesota (33-39 SU). The Wild are in ninth place in the Western Conference, one point behind Colorado for the final wild card position and why they are this close is they have managed to defeat Chicago all three times these season, which is only a measure of revenge after being knocked out of the playoffs by them each of the last three years.

Chicago will lean on the league's leading scorer Patrick Kane, who has 10 goals and nine assists the last 13 times he has faced Minnesota and the Hawks are -175 home favorites, sporting a 15-6 mark against teams with losing record in their last 21 outings.

Anaheim Wins in Afternoon Action
On Friday, Anaheim (39-31 SU) continued their mastery over Boston, handing the Bruins just their third shutout of the season in 4-0 whitewashing. That also ended a negative spell in which the Ducks had lost four of five and fell out of first place in the Pacific.

While it will not be easy to catch Los Angeles for a second time, they can close the gap this afternoon against another team in which they have had a great deal of success in Winnipeg (29-42 SU). The Ducks have flown by the Jets nine straight times, including five in a row at the MTS Center. In all, Anaheim has won nine of 12 over the Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise on the road.

It does not figure the Jets will have much success scoring against the NHL's second-best defense and top penalty killers. Home ice is not expected to be sanctuary for Winnipeg who is 4-13-1 in their past 18 home games and they are +145 home underdogs with a 4-15 record after playing a game where four or fewer total goals were scored this season.

San Jose Picks Up Two Points on Arizona
San Jose (40-31 SU) probably is not going to catch Los Angeles as this juncture, though they could and is more likely focusing its efforts on taking over second place in the Pacific over Anaheim, trailing them by a single point.

The Sharks have been steadily gaining ground in winning eight of 11 and the last was particularly impressive and important, taking down the New York Rangers 4-1, having fallen at Arizona (31-40 SU) two nights prior. This has San Jose in revenge-mode from St. Patrick's Day, in the second contest of a six-game homestand.

The Sharks are chalky -230 home favorites and they are 24-13 revenging a loss in which they were a favorite the last few seasons. The Coyotes do not figure to be much of a threat with a 7-34 record against teams averaging 29.5 or more shots on goal in the second half of the year the last two seasons.
