The New York Rangers have come storming back from a 3-1 deficit and being less than 2 minutes away from elimination to take their series with the Washington Capitals to a game 7 at Madison Square Garden.

Face-off is set for 7:30 p.m. tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York City. According to the NHL betting odds, the Rangers are a -153 betting favorite and the total for the game is 5 goals.

Offense or Defense?
What will we see? Thus far, we've seen a bunch of 1 goal games that have been very low scoring due to the elite goaltending of Braden Holtby and the King, Henrik Lundqvist.

In game 6, things took a turn as the Rangers defeated the Capitals 4-3 in Washington D.C. We've also been seeing nearly 80 shots on goal each game between theses two teams. This has been an amazing series as the goaltending has dominated play.

"We Will Win This Series!"
This is a very serious declaration being that it was taken from the best goal scorer in the NHL in Alex Ovechkin. Ovechkin had 53 goals in the regular season and has had 5 seasons of 50 goals or more. It could have been said to motivate his team, but that is bulletin board material indeed. The Rangers have done everything to prove that this won't happen. Ovechkin, who has had a tough time in this series, has really put his reputation on the line. This could backfire on him as Madison Square Garden is a hostile environment and not an easy place for visitors to be victorious.

Here's Ross Benjamin's NHL pick for tonight's Matchup

Chris Kreider Heroics
The Rangers wouldn't even be to this point if it weren't for the play of Chris Kreider. He was the player that tied the game in game 5 with just under 2 minutes to go to keep the Rangers in this series. Not only that, Kreider has dominated play since then as he scored 2 goals in game 6 to get the Rangers off to a big lead. Washington made a ferocious comeback, but they were one goal short. Kreider has been a good player this season with 21 goals and 26 assists, but besides Henrik Lundqvist, he's been the best player on the ice in the post season.

Cementing His Name In History
Henrik Lundqvist has been a hall of fame goalie and an all-time Rangers great. He's 32 years old and in the prime of his career. He might not ever get to the level of a Martin Brodeur, but he's solidified his place in NHL history.

The one thing missing on Lundqvist's mantle is a Stanley Cup. The Rangers have only one 1 Stanley Cup since 1940 with Mark Messier leading the way. Lundqvist made it to the Finals against Los Angeles last season, but was unsuccessful. If it wasn't for Chris Kreider, he would be out of the playoffs this season very early. Lundqvist has a 2nd chance in this game 7 as the Rangers were the team expected to win the Stanley Cup.

Thus far the Rangers haven't trailed in this series by more than 1 goal in any game. Even though Kreider has been the hero, this game will come down to the play of the goalies. I personally don't care about Ovechkin's guarantee. He did it to motivate his team. The Rangers are the team with all of the momentum, home ice advantage, and the best goalie (in my opinion), in the last decade in Lundqvist. For your NHL picks., lay the juice as the Rangers advance to the next round.
