There’s a full menu on the board tonight in terms of NHL betting with 10 games on the card. We’ve got a preview of the Buffalo-Tampa Bay game separately & below we’ve got 3 more picks for the card.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers
Odds: Panthers -175
The Florida Panthers have won two straight overall and in this series, and are laying a fairly big number on Tuesday night as they host the Toronto Maple Leafs. Call me crazy but I think the Leafs are worth a look here. Yes, they’ve lost two straight (and were shut out both times) and seven of nine, but the trade deadline has passed and that should provide a sense of relief to this team. Of course, the season is pretty much lost but the Leafs should feel much better about the fact that the team wasn’t sold off for parts. There were so many trade rumors surrounding the Leafs yet most of the veterans weren’t moved and now that that’s behind them, it should take a burden off their backs.
That being the case, I’m willing to take a shot with them as a sizable road dog. It’s not a great play but rather a flier for my NHL picks.

New York Islanders vs. Dallas Stars
Odds: Islanders -130
The Dallas Stars goaltending continues to be a mess as they’ve given up at least three goals in six straight games. Not surprisingly, they’ve lost all six of those contests. If they can do a little bit of scoring, we should be able to hit the over in this spot. They only scored one goal in their latest outing but they’re actually fourth in goals per game this season, so we should see them do a bit more for us on Tuesday – especially against the Isles. We’ll likely see Jaroslav Halak in net for the Islanders in this spot and he’s been fading since his hot start this season. Halak has a 2.60 GAA in February and a 2.83 GAA in January, which is not very good. That’s a far cry from the 1.37 GAA he posted in November.
As for the Islanders, they are third in the NHL right now in goals per game at 3.09 and have scored 10 goals in their last three games. They should have a feast against a pair of Stars netminders that are struggling to see clearly.
With the goaltending being less than optimal on both sides, I’ll take the over in this spot.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Edmonton Oilers
Odds: Kings -215
The Kings have lost three straight but this looks like a spot where they can get back on track. They’ll be facing an Oilers team that has had a tough time recently, dropping three of four and five of seven. The Oilers have scored just four goals in their last four games.
The bigger issue could be that the Oilers didn’t make any wholesale changes at the trade deadline. This is a team that’s tanking and could have moved some parts but virtually stood pat. As a result, the mood around the locker room can’t be that healthy right now.
The Kings NHL odds on the moneyline is too expensive here and way overpriced, so I’ll take a shot with the Kings on the puckline here.
