It’s going to be a busy night on the ice tonight with 9 games on the card. We have separate previews up for the Capitals-Canadiens & Lightning-Senators, below we’ve got NHL picks for 3 other games.

Boston Bruins vs. Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings are coming completely unglued (at the wrong time of the season) as they’ve now lost 10 of their last 14. On Thursday, they’ll be hosting a Bruins team that is not only fighting for their playoff lives but is trying to catch them in the standings. The Bruins are currently two points back of the Red Wings 93.

The Bruins have got back on track with three straight wins as Tuukka is again playing well. He’s allowed just five goals in his last three outings. Momentum is guiding us in this one, so take the Bruins with your NHL picks.

New York Islanders vs. Columbus Blue Jackets
Islanders -125
The Islanders continue to trend in the wrong direction as they’ve lost seven of their last nine. The good news is that they are coming off a win. The bad news is that they defeated the Detroit Red Wings, who – as mentioned above – have been struggling mightily.

The Islanders just can’t seem to put forth complete efforts they averaged just 2.31 goals per game in March (the ninth-worst) but have allowed 2.71 over their last seven games.

On Thursday, they’ll be visiting a Blue Jackets team that is about as hot as it gets these days. Columbus has won seven straight games and 10 of their last 11. This is as good as Columbus has been all season long and it’s fairly clear that they want to carry over some momentum into next season. Their offense has been on fire as they’ve scored a whopping 30 goals over their last seven and considering the Isles are having some issues between the pipes, this matchup could spell trouble.

Although there is a wide gap between the teams in the standings, Columbus is the better team right now. On top of that, they are at home and you can get them as the dog on the NHL betting odds lines. Take Columbus.

NHL Pick: Blue Jackets +112 at Bovada

Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings
Kings -310
The Los Angeles Kings have fallen on hard times with back-to-back losses, getting outscored by a count of 8-2, but they can’t mess around anymore. It’s do or die time for them as they are two points out of a playoff spot with just six games to go. On Thursday, they get what should be a layup as the Edmonton Oilers visit. While the Oilers have been a bad team this season, they’ve caught a little bit of wind this month and have been playing well recently. However, they find themselves in a back-to-back situation after playing in Anaheim the night before. That’s also going to be their third game in four nights. That being the case, let’s take a shot with the Kings on the puck line and see if the Stanley Cup champs can rally.

NHL Pick:  Kings -1.5 at The Greek
