There are just five games on Friday night in the NHL. We’ve got the card covered for you with three previews below as well the Florida-Carolina game singled off in its own article. Check which teams we're backing for our NHL picks.

Edmonton Oilers vs. New Jersey Devils

The Devils offense has gone missing in action as they’ve scored just six goals in their last four games. Although a visit from Edmonton might cure those woes as the Oilers had been one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL, right now they’re playing pretty well at the back end. Combined with the fact that the Devils allow the second-fewest goals per game at home (1.92), I’ll expect this to be a low-scoring game and go under on the NHL odds.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at 5Dimes

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Phoenix Coyotes

Both teams aren’t playing particularly well right now but I’ll still take the Blackhawks with my NHL picks over Phoenix almost any day. The Coyotes have alternated wins and losses over their last six but even with that, they’ve lost 17 of their last 25 games.

As for the Blackhawks, they’ve shown a bit of a pulse recently with back-to-back wins while going 3-0-1 in their last four. They’ve won four of the last five in this series, scoring at least five goals in each of their wins. Given how the Coyotes defense and goaltending have been recently, there’s a good chance they hit those numbers again.

NHL Pick: Blackhawks -130 at Pinnacle

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. San Jose Sharks

The Sharks have been an excellent defensive team at home this season and the numbers back it up. They allow just 1.93 goals per game at the Shark Tank, which is third-best in the NHL. On Friday, they’ll host the Blue Jackets and they should be able to keep them under wraps. Columbus has played well recently but this will be a back-to-back road situation for them after playing in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Only one of the last nine Sharks games has seen more than five goals, so take the under with your sports picks here.
