It’s a quiet night in the NHL with just five games on the card. Even so, we’ve rounded up our favorite three hockey betting picks below and make sure you also check out our preview of the Colorado-Anaheim game separately.

St. Louis Blues vs. Dallas Stars
Odds: Stars -109
These two teams have split their four meetings this season with each team losing both times at home. I’m not so sure that laying juice with the Stars makes sense here. While they have been the better team of late, they haven’t played well at home this season. They are under .500 in front of their own audience and have just four wins in their last 10 home games. One of those losses at home came to these very same Blues.

St. Louis has lost five of seven but maybe has turned a bit of a corner with a win on Thursday night against Calgary. That means they are now 2-2 in their last four outings. As for the Stars, they’ve dropped two of three, which you should keep in mind when looking at the NHL betting odds.

I view them as the better team here and getting them as a small road dog is attractive to me. Take the Blues.

NHL Pick: Blues +101 at Pinnacle

Arizona Coyotes vs. San Jose Sharks
Odds: Sharks -280
The streaky San Jose Sharks have some life again as they’ve gone 3-0-1 in their last four games while scoring 15 goals in the process. They appear to have a little confidence and a little momentum. Their opponent on Friday is at the opposite end of the spectrum.

The Coyotes are a tough team to back as they’ve lost 12 of 14. Their only two wins in that stretch have come against a Detroit Red Wings team that’s in a massive slump and the Buffalo Sabres, who are the worst team in the NHL. It’s hard to believe that they were once 16-20-4, which isn’t great but it’s still respectable. They have just seven wins in their last 37 games. More recently, they have just three wins in their last 23 games and they’ve been held to two goals or fewer in 20 of those contests.

That being the case, I’ll take a shot with the Sharks on the puck line. They’ve won five of the last seven meetings and hopefully they take care of business here with a two-goal win.

NHL Pick: Sharks -1.5 at Sports Interaction

Montreal Canadiens vs. New Jersey Devils
The Canadiens have been struggling as they’ve lost four of their last five games. They’ve had a really tough time stopping their opponents from scoring as the Habs have given up 20 goals in those five contests, which is a huge departure from how strong they have been most of the year in terms of defense. However, the Devils struggles are on a whole other level. New Jersey has lost six straight games while scoring a total of seven goals in the process. They’ve had a really tough time generating any offense.

Although the Canadiens are in a slump and are in a back-to-back situation, this looks like a spot where they can get back on track. New Jersey is just playing out the string of games until their season ends and they haven’t been putting much effort. Take the Canadiens with your NHL picks.
