Another busy night of playoff hockey awaits, with four more games to examine closely. Our NHL odds previews are can be found inside.

Tuesday, March 21st Recap
Three of four home teams won, with Detroit, Chicago and Calgary all ending up on the winning side to improve their chances of playoff survival. The New York Islanders were the only team to lose in front of their own fans. Two of four favorites ended up cashing - will we see more of the same tonight?

Wednesday, March 22nd Picks of the Day
Eight teams will be struggling for a win this evening, with four more marquee matchups awaiting. There are some interesting lines out there, but our first stop comes in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. New York Rangers
As soon as the Penguins took control of the series, they give it back. They earned a huge Game 2 road win in New York, but they were unable to rise to the task in their first home playoff game of the series. Henrik Lundqvist continued his stellar play in goal and was instrumental in the Rangers' Game 3 victory (2-1).

For Game 4, Pittsburgh will be on the ropes and knowing how critical a victory tonight would be. Losing this one would make it a near impossible task to come from behind and advance on in the playoffs. It's a desperate time for the Penguins, yet oddsmakers are keeping their cool and still pricing out the Rangers as the NHL betting odds favorites. That means Pittsburgh is available for backing at a very attractive price this evening.

The Penguins simply have too much talent to go down this easily, and they have one of the best players in hockey too. That always helps. Sidney Crosby is capable of taking over games by himself, and he has to know how important he is to the team's cause. If Crosby can get going early, it's going to be these guys in a great spot.

We believe Pittsburgh will save face by picking up a win and evening up the series in the process. Roll with the Penguins at plus money.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Anaheim Ducks
Rough. That's one way of describing it. The Jets have been put in a disastrous situation and we're only three games into the series. They've lost all three games thus far, with the absolute backbreaker coming in Game 3, a game that was at home and was decided in overtime. It was a crushing blow, surely.

The season isn't over just yet, however, so we expect a top effort from Winnipeg, especially if the crowd gets into it and keeps the team's spirits high. This Jets team is talented and is more than capable of giving Anaheim trouble, and while they're the clear underdogs overall, they're still classified as favorites for tonight's Game 4.

That's making us think the Jets might just grab at least one win in this series before their playoff lives are extinguished. Winnipeg was 23-13-15 at home and did close out the regular season playing some sound hockey, so we think there's a good chance they'll be competing here, rather than tossing in the towel completely.

Motivations always are tested when you're in a big hole come postseason time, but the Jets have an opportunity to make things more interesting, and crazier things have happened in playoff hockey before. A win here for Winnipeg would be a good boost in confidence ahead of what would be a trip back to Anaheim. Side with the Jets for your NHL picks at the reasonable price to make the series 3-1.
