There are seven games in the NHL on Sunday and we’ve got four of them covered. Three are below with picks and make sure you check out the full preview of the Vancouver-Anaheim game as well.

Florida Panthers @ New York Rangers

One of the reasons the Rangers have bounced back to win six of their last eight is because their goaltending has significantly improved. After allowing an average of 3.9 goals per game in their first eight contests, they’ve shaved that to just 1.5 over their last eight. On Sunday, they’ll host the Florida Panthers, who’ve basically quit altogether. They’ve lost eight straight and have scored just 18 goals in their last 10 games. On top of that, Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist has excellent numbers against the Panthers, posting four shutouts and a 1.70 GAA in 14 career starts against them.

While the juice is far too high on the Rangers, I’ll add the under to my NHL picks. It’s a low total but the Rangers aren’t giving up much these days while the Panthers aren’t scoring much.

San Jose Sharks @ Winnipeg Jets

The Jets are coming off a big 5-0 win over the Nashville Predators but they are still a team that struggles mightily. Even though they’ve won two of three, those are their only two wins in their last six. Goal scoring has been one of the main issues as they have just 43 goals on the season but 23 of those goals came in five games. That means they’ve averaged just 1.53 goals per game in their other contests.

The under looks like good value on the NHL odds here because San Jose scores less on the road (3.00 goals per game) than at home (4.25) but their goaltending is better away (1.75) compared to at home (2.38).

Free Pick: Under 5.5 at Bet365

Washington Capitals @ Colorado Avalanche

I understand that the Colorado Avalanche have been awesome this season (13-2-0) and I know that the Washington Capitals are in a back-to-back situation after losing in a shootout (4-3) in Phoenix last night, but the NHL odds for this Sunday matchup still present good value. Laying -180 with the Avs is just too much.

What’s being a bit overlooked in this matchup is the fact that Washington is playing great right now. They are 4-0-1 in their last five and have scored at least three goals in each of their last five (22 in total). Colorado lost at home to Nashville on Wednesday, so Washington is more than capable of getting the job done. I’ll add them to my sports picks as the value is too good to pass up.
