NHL Betting: Sunday Picks
Here’s a look at our picks for the day:
Record: 53-59 (-430)
Vancouver Canucks at Detroit Red Wings
The Vancouver Canucks are a -115 road favorite on the NHL odds in Detroit, which gives you a pretty good idea of where the Red Wings are these days. Although Joe Louis Arena used to be one of the toughest places to win, the Red Wings have recent home lost to Columbus, Anaheim and St. Louis on their home ice recently.
Detroit just can’t stop the bleeding as they are giving up a ton of goals. Heading into their Saturday night contest against Nashville, the Red Wings had allowed 19 goals in their last five games. This is a spot to take Vancouver.
Pick: Canucks -115 at Bovada
Colorado Avalanche at Anaheim Ducks
The Anaheim Ducks are red hot right now as they have won six straight. On Sunday, they host the Colorado Avalanche, who in a back-to-back situation. Meanwhile, the Ducks haven’t played since last Monday, so they should be very fresh for this contest.
The Ducks already beat the Avs 3-0 once this season and I see a similar result. Take the Ducks on the puck line to avoid the juice for this hockey pick.
NHL Picks: Ducks -1.5 +180 at Pinnacle
Columbus Blue Jackets at Chicago Blackhawks
We’ll add another puck line pick to the list on Sunday as the Chicago Blackhawks host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Blackhawks have still yet to lose in regulation this season and are now an impressive 14-0-3. They’ve had a relatively light week as they’ve only played on Tuesday and Friday this week. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets will be in a back-to-back situation and also playing their third game in four days on Sunday.
The juice is too high on the Blackhawks so instead, I’ll lay the puck line and look for them to get the win by two.
