Game two expects to be a much tighter affair than the first in Sharks vs. Predators, so join us in this betting preview as we find the best NHL Pick for this exciting game.

There was little doubt that as game one wore on the well rested San Jose Sharks imposed their will on the Nashville Predators who was given very little time to recoup from their seven game series against the Anaheim Ducks. After being off for a week the Sharks took two periods to wake up but when they did they erupted for five third period goals on their way to beating Nashville 5-2. The Sharks took advantage of both of their third period power play opportunities at a time when they knew Nashville was back on their heels struggling to find that extra level of energy.

I would have thought there would be some Predator money come in for game two with the thinking that Nashville would be more rested but we've seen the line grow from an opening number of -161 to -165 at top rated sportsbooks. There is some chance that Predators money still may come in but because it appears that the percentage of bets are fairly even but my advice if you're going to take the Sharks is to get on them now.

Much has been made about the San Jose record at the SAP Center which is the worst among playoff teams but one team that hasn't been able to succeed there is Nashville who have dropped 20 of their last 27 games in the Sharks building. The home team in this series has typically been a solid bet going 37-18 in their last 55 meetings.

In game one I thought the Sharks the depth a Stanley Cup champion needs when they made Nashville look sloppy forcing them into numerous turnovers which brings us to how important game two is because if they lose the series is all but over because the Sharks have won 7 of their last nine series after taking a 2-0 lead.

Nashville's powerplay unit hasn't been able to save them lately as they have been successful on just two of their last 28 man advantage attempts. In order to find success the Preds must find a way to stop a potent Sharks power play as they now have been successful on over 29% of their chances including 5 of 7 in their last two games which could be a problem because Nashville has only killed off power plays at a 78.6% clip.

We know that winning the battle of special teams and the faceoff circle is the key to a teams success which gives me some worry for Nashville because if they cant kill off penalties it doesn't appear their power play will be able to match the Sharks.

With the victory Sharks goaltender, Martin Jones, is a spectacular 9-2 in the playoffs against Nashville. Strangely enough Pekka Rinne came out after they dismissed the Anaheim Ducks and proclaimed that they were the best team remaining which I'm sure gave the Sharks some extra incentive. Not only is it the last thing I'm sure Peter Laviolette wanted a key player on his team saying but it flat out isn't true.

We are going to add the Sharks to our NHL picks again today even though the price is higher than we'd like and I'm going to wash that down with a play on the 'under' 5 -113 on NHL odds

Best of luck today.
