It’s the penultimate weekend in the NHL as the playoff musical chairs continues. Check out our NHL picks here to get our insight from the 11-game card.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Minnesota Wild
Although the Pittsburgh Penguins have been extremely vulnerable of late, I like them in this spot simply because the Wild have not been play well at home. They’ve now dropped five of their last six at home while scoring just six goals in the process. Ilya Bryzgalov is the Wild’s probably goaltender for Saturday and he’s lost four of six against the Pens while posting a 3.68 GAA.

Pick: Pens -108 at Pinnacle

Washington Capitals vs. New York Islanders
The Capitals are in a must-win situation on Saturday night but I’m not sure they deserve to be road favorites in this spot. They’ve lost four straight and five of six. The addition of goaltender Jaroslav Halak was supposed to plug a major hole on this team but so far, he’s just 4-3-3 as a member of the Caps. They lost again on Friday night with a 2-1 failure in New Jersey. Saturday’s game will also be their third in four nights.

The Isles are three straight and five of six. They are 10-6 in their last 16 against winning teams while the Caps are just 14-22 in their last 36 games. Take a flier with the Isles.

Pick: Isles +108 at BetMarathon

Winnipeg Jets vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
With Jonathan Bernier out, I’m going to take the over with my NHL picks in this spot. James Reimer stepped in to help the Leafs get the win against Boston in their last time bout but Reimer had given up 45 goals in his last 13 starts, which boils down to 3.46 per game. Nine of his last 12 outings have seen six goals or more.

As for the Jets, they’ve won three straight in this series, scoring at least five goals in each of those wins. Take the over.

Pick: Over 5.5 at Bodog
