Saturday is an odd day in the NHL as there are more day games than night games. Keep that in mind as you handicap the lines as only three of the 10 games start at 7:00 PM ET or later.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Nashville Predators

I’m going to continue sticking with the Winnipeg Jets as this is a team that’s playing with plenty of confidence right now. Under new head coach Paul Maurice, they are 10-4-1 and have moved into playoff contention. However, they dug themselves such a big hole to start the year that they still have a ways to go. I’ll take a shot with them as a road dog on the NHL odds as they are the better of the two teams.

Pick: Jets +110 at BetCris

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Chicago Blackhawks

We have a pretty even matchup on our hands in this one but I’m not sure I see why the Blackhawks are favored by so much. I have no qualms with anyone who wants to take the Blackhawks here with their sports picks but the price doesn’t make sense. I don’t think they should be a -140 favorite considering they’ve lost seven of 10 and are hosting the best team in the East. There’s good value with the Pens here.

Calgary Flames vs. Edmonton Oilers

Two of the worst teams in the NHL will square off in this one. While picking the side might be a coin flip, I like the under on the total. When you look at this series history, the under is 31-14 in the last 45 matchups in Edmonton. More recently, the under has cashed in four of the last six at Rexall Place and two of the three meetings (overall) has also gone under.

The Oilers have scored two goals in their last three games while the Flames have scored five in their last four. I’ll go under with my NHL picks.

Pick: Under 5.5 at Bodog
