Saturday is normally a busy day in the NHL, but there’s just seven games on the schedule. Here’s a look at what’s on tap along with our daily picks.

NHL Betting: Friday Picks

Record: 40-48 (-751)

Ottawa Senators at Toronto Maple Leafs

The Ottawa Senators have had a tough time scoring recently and I see those struggles continuing on Saturday. They’ve registered just 11 goals in their last seven games. The Toronto Maple Leafs are no juggernaut themselves. Even though they are ninth in the league in goals scored per game, they are actually 23rd when it comes to goals scored at home. Look for this to be a low scoring contest on Saturday.

NHL Picks: Under 5.5 at Bovada

Columbus Blue Jackets at Phoenix Coyotes

The Columbus Blue Jackets seem to have an offensive outburst here and there, and then they go back to being awful in their other games. For example, they defeated the San Jose Sharks 6-2 recently but scored just six goals in their three games before that. They scored four against Detroit in a win on February 2nd but averaged just 1.75 goals per game in the eight games before that.

Phoenix has a hot goaltender right now with Mike Smith and the Coyotes shouldn’t have too much of a problem muting them on Saturday night. The NHL odds makers are giving us plus-money on the under, so I’ll take it.

NHL Pickss: Under 5

Philadelphia Flyers at Montreal Canadiens

I’m going to take a shot with the Flyers on Saturday night as the value looks decent. They’re still not the team they were last season but they have shown signs of life. The Montreal Canadiens have scored one goal or less in three of their last five. On top of that, goaltender Carey Price does not play well against the Flyers. He’s lost five of his last six starts against them while posting a 3.38 GAA, so I'll be taking Philly as one of my hockey picks today.

NHL Picks: Flyers +130 at Pinnacle
