NHL Betting: Saturday Picks
Record: 84-98 (-835)
Phoenix Coyotes at Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets have lost two straight but both were tight losses to Vancouver and Chicago. I’m willing to take a shot with them that they get back on track on Saturday when the Phoenix Coyotes visit.
Phoenix has been very average on the road this season as their three road wins are tied for the second-fewest. I’m not sure they should be laying juice on the road anywhere at this point – even in Columbus.
The Blue Jackets have been playing well recently, so I’ll take a shot with them as the NHL odds underdog.
NHL Pick: Blue Jackets +102 at Bodog
Anaheim Ducks at St. Louis Blues
The St. Louis Blues have a little bit of mojo going as goaltender Jake Allen has really provided a spark. The team has won each of his last four starts and have given up just eight goals in those games.
I think the under is worth a look here for one of our NHL picks, as the Ducks will be without Corey Perry in this spot as well. The last seven Blues home games have seen an average of 4.1 goals per game.
NHL Pick: Under 5.5 at BetOnline
Chicago Blackhawks at Dallas Stars
The Chicago Blackhawks seem to have regrouped as they ended their mini two-game losing streak with a win in Columbus. Meanwhile, Dallas has lost three straight and has played very poorly at home of late, so the Blackhawks seem like they are worth the price of admission here.
The Stars have lost five of their last seven at home and are just 5-7 at home this season. They have had trouble scoring recently with just two goals in their last three games and they could be without scoring star Jamie Benn on Saturday, who is questionable with a wrist injury.
NHL Pick: Blackhawks -128 at Pinnacle
