Free NHL picks for the Fridan night matchup between the Winnipeg Jets and the Nashville Predators. Whick betting lines do we think offer us the best chance of cashing in with our sports picks?

The Winnipeg Jets host the Nashville Predators at the MTS Centre with faceoff time at 8:05 PM ET. According to NHL betting odds Winnipeg is a -110 money line home favorite and the posted total is 5.0. Nashville has won the last four meetings between these two clubs. The series has seen just 1 of the last 6-games go over the total. Does this mean that we should focus our NHL picks on this game's total? Not so fast fellas.

Don't forgot to check out our excellent Hockey Picks of the Day for Friday!

Music City Road Gigs

This will be the 4th of a 7-game in 13-day road trip for the Predators. Nashville has gone 2-1 versus the money line on the trip so far, with their only loss coming in an overtime shootout 5-4 versus the Phoenix Coyotes. Since then they’ve rebounded with 2 straight wins versus Los Angeles and Colorado. The Predators have gone over the total in their last 4-games with a combined average of 8.3 goals per game scored. They’ve really done a great job of generating offense in the first 3-games of the road trip scoring 14-goals. The Nashville power play has been very good this season converting on 24.4% of their chances which is good for 4th in the NHL.

Jets Need a Jolt

After starting the season 2-0 the Winnipeg Jets have lost 11 of their last 15-games. Their last game was a 4-1 loss at Chicago on Wednesday night. The Jets effort level was listless in Chicago as they fell behind 4-0, before Devin Setoguchi broke the goose egg with 11:20 remaining in the game for the lone Winnipeg goal. The Jets have done a nice job of creating scoring chances averaging 32.0 shots on goal per game. Unfortunately that hasn’t translated to the score sheet as they’re 24th in the NHL at 2.2 goals per contest.

NHL Super System

Any home team with a losing record playing in the first half of the season, versus an opponent that’s coming off 2 or more road wins in a row, and has a money line winning percentage of .510 to .600 is 41-22 (65.1%) since the beginning of the 1996-1997 year.

Free Pick: Winnipeg -110 over Nashville
