Our NHL consultant analyzes tonight’s game between Pittsburgh & Anaheim in this betting preview article. Can Penguins rebound after having their 4-game win streak snapped in their previous game?

Penguins will be seen in “The Duck Pond”
The Ducks will host the Penguins tonight at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The opening puck drop is slated for 10:05 PM ET. According to the current NHL betting odds at Bookmaker, Anaheim is a -135 money line favorite, and the posted total is 5.5. This will be the second meeting of the season between these clubs. Pittsburgh defeated Anaheim 6-4 at home way back on October 9th. The Penguins also defeated the Ducks in both of their encounters a season ago by scores of 3-1 and 3-2.

Pens Win Streak halted in Colorado
The Pittsburgh Penguins four game winning streak came to an end during a 3-1 road loss versus the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday. That also snapped a streak of four consecutive games in a row in which the Penguins had scored four goals or more. Marc Andre Fleury is slated to be in goal for Pittsburgh at the Honda Center in Anaheim tonight. Fleury has seen eleven of his fourteen starts this season go under the total when facing a Western Conference opponent, and compiled an outstanding .941 save percentage. Pittsburgh has managed to hold their own on their road this season from a betting perspective, going 16-14 against the money line.

Red-Hot Ducks
The Anaheim Ducks enter tonight having won four in a row and seven of their last eight games. During this current four game win streak, they’ve allowed two goals or less in all of those contests, and have allowed exactly one goal in each of the last three. Ducks fans are also very happy to know, Frederik Andersen has returned to the lineup after being out for an extended period of time while recovering from a neck injury. Andersen was very sharp in Tuesday’s 4-1 win at Arizona by stopping 29 of 30 shots on goal by the Coyotes. He’s also gone a terrific 17-7 against the money line at home this season, compiling a stellar .921 save percentage in the process of doing so.

Final Analysis
The Ducks opened at -130, and have since gone to -135, and that’s despite around 70% of money line wagers coming in on the Penguins thus far. If you’re concerned that this will be the Ducks third game in the last four days, don’t be. Anaheim has gone a very profitable 22-6 against the money line during the past two seasons when placed in that exact situation. I’m going to go with the home team riding a wave of momentum for one of my NHL picks on Friday.
