The Boston Bruins have to feel good right about now after wining the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals on the road against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Game 3 is being hosted at the TD Bank Garden on Wednesday night and the Bruins have a golden opportunity to take a commanding lead on their home ice and total control of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Face off in this pivotal matchup will come at 8:00 pm EST and can be seen live on national television with broadcast coverage provided by the NBC Sports Network.

Sportsbooks have pegged the home as slim favorites, listing the Bruins as -120 on the money line, while offering even money on the visiting Penguins.

Bettors backing Boston also have the option of giving up -1½ goals, with an attractive return of +250 on the NHL odds. Taking the +1 ½ with Pittsburgh comes at a heavy price of -300.

The games total is coming in at 5 ½ goals with a price of -120 on the under and even money on the over. The last four head-to-head meetings between these adversaries have stayed under the posted total (4-0-0). The Penguins have eclipsed the total in 4 of 5 games played on the highway.

Pittsburgh has beaten the Bruins six straight times in Boston and the road team has won 11 of the last 14 head-to-head meetings.

However, the Bruins are red-hot, winning seven of eight overall and four consecutive on their home ice. Boston is also an impressive 4-1 in their last five Eastern Conference Finals matchups.

Prediction

The Penguins are the highest scoring team in the NHL, but the Bruins were able to contain their two stars, holding Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scoreless for the second straight game; which is a big reason why Pittsburgh is stuck in a 0-2 hole and in jeopardy of falling even further.

Meanwhile, the Bruins are happy the series has shifted to Boston – especially with a nice cushion, but they also are fully aware of the Penguins potency and how fast they can take charge of a game.

Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening for the Penguins, as Boston has all the momentum and will come a way with a victory in Game 3 in front of their hometown fans; and more importantly move within one game of the Stanley Cup Finals.
