The Blackhawks meet the Predators again in game 5 and the latter are listed as the odds makers favorites, opening at -110 on the posted NHL odds. Find out which teams holds the best betting value tonight!.

The Chicago Blackhawks Can Win Because…
They believe in themselves a lot more than Nashville does these days. The Blackhawks know that someway, somehow, they are coming away with the win at the end of the game whereas Nashville is wondering what they have to do to get the job done.

The Blackhawks continue to find a way through Pekka Rinne as he again gave up three goals in Game 4. He’s now given up three goals or more in nine of his last 10 games (dating back to the regular season) and he’s really struggling. He did play better in Game 4 but the game-tying goal he gave up was a rather weak wrister that he normally should have stopped.

Nashville is just beat down mentally and they are beat up. There’s still no Shea Weber, there’s no Mike Fisher and they are on their last legs. Look for the Blackhawks to put them away in Game 5.

The Nashville Predators Can Win Because…
They’ve come close and now playing at home with their playoff lives on the line, they are going to get over the hump. Even though Nashville trails this series 3-1, they haven’t been out of any game. Goaltender Pekka Rinne continues to play better as he’s stopped 95 of his last 104 shots, which boils down to a .913 save percentage. That’s not bad considering he had an .863 save percentage in the month of April (to end the regular season).

The Preds just need to find a way to protect their leads. Normally, this is a team that doesn’t have any issues with this but in Games 1 and 4, they’ve blown their edge and allowed the Blackhawks back to steal the game. In Game 5, they’re back at home where they won Game 2 easily and should have won Game 1. As long as they can get a little bit more offense and a slightly better performance from Rinne, they should be in line to extend this series by one more game.

Outlook
It just doesn’t look good for the Predators right now…unless they can get Weber back in the lineup. They have lost eight of their last nine games (over the last two years) when Weber has been out of the lineup and him being out helps explain the Predators blown lead in Game 4.

While I do think Chicago has a great shot to win this, my NHL betting pick is an under as I expect this to be a low-scoring, conservative game. Rinne has to play even better, the Preds have to be even more mistake-free and I expect this to be a conservative affair.
