Monday is quiet night for NHL picks with just three games in action. We have an individual preview up of the Anaheim Ducks-Vancouver Canucks contest. Beyond that, we’ve got that other two games covered for you below.

Calgary Flames vs. New Jersey Devils
The Devils are a massive favorite on the NHL odds in this spot but it’s not a line that makes a whole lot of sense. Should they be favored? Of course. They’re playing at home, they are fighting for a playoff berth and are noticeably better than Calgary in the standings. However, they shouldn’t be favored by -230.

The Flames continue to be a quality bet as they won in Florida in their most recent outing. Before that, they won in Tampa Bay. This a team that only had 16 wins in their first 50 games but has 17 wins in their last 28. That’s better than the Devils, who are 12-14 in their last 26.

Admittedly, it feels like a pretty tall order for the Flames to win in New Jersey but I’m going to take a shot with them. At more than +200, they’re worth a shot for my NHL picks.

Pick: Flames +212 at BetMarathon

Minnesota Wild vs. Winnipeg Jets
The Minnesota Wild have come to life a little bit as they’ve won three of their last four outings. There’s a good chance they can extend that streak when the visit the Jets on Monday. The Jets have won two of three but on a greater scale, have dropped 11 of 16. Playing at home hasn’t provided much of an advantage for them as they’ve lost seven of their last nine at the MTS Centre.

The Wild should have an edge in net as Ilya Bryzgalov has proven to be quite serviceable between the pipes. He’s allowed just 16 goals in nine outings and should lead the Wild to a win here.

Pick: Wild -108 at Pinnacle
