San Jose Sharks vs. Anaheim Ducks
The Sharks have to be thinking about canning head coach Todd McLellan. Let’s face it: this team has been an absolute gong show since their 7-0-0 start this season.
They lost 5-3 in Anaheim last Monday and I would expect to see a similar result. The Sharks have just two wins in their last nine and each of their last four losses have come by two goals or more.
Laying the juice on the NHL odds here is a bit crazy – especially with the Ducks in a back-to-back and their third game in four nights – but I’ll take the puck line.
NHL Pick: Ducks -1.5 at Bovada
Minnesota Wild vs. Dallas Stars
The Wild are red hot right now and it’s hard to bet against them with my NHL picks right now. They’ve won five straight and seven of eight, and finally appear to be putting it together. Goaltender Nik Backstrom is on fire right now as he’s given up just 15 goals in his last eight games. The Wild’s offense has also come to life as they’ve tallied 20 goals in their last five games.
Minnesota is not a great road team but Dallas is just 7-6-2 at home this season. I’ll take a shot with the Wild.
NHL Pick: Wild at Pinnacle
Los Angeles Kings vs. Chicago Blackhawks
The Kings offense seems to ebb and flow, and right now, they are back to their low-scoring ways. The Kings have been shutout in back-to-back games and are now just 3-4 in their last seven.
The Kings score significantly different amounts at home versus away as they average 2.50 when away and 3.06 at home. I look for this game to be played closer to the vest and for it to stay under the number – mostly based on the Kings offense.
