Seven games are on the radar for Monday but keep in mind that it’s a long weekend, so we’ll see a couple of games early on the schedule, including the Ottawa-New Jersey contest.

Here’s a look at our NHL picks for Monday.

Record: 46-50 (-307)

Ottawa Senators vs. New Jersey Devils

The Ottawa Senators are having a really tough time generating any offense these days as they’ve scored just 11 goals in their last eight games. They are fresh off a 3-0 loss on Saturday night in Toronto.

The New Jersey Devils are a good defensive team but they should bring a particularly strong effort after losing 5-1 to the New York Islanders on Saturday, which tied a season high. This should turn out to be a low-scoring contest and while the total is five, we are getting plus-money on the NHL odds.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at Bovada

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers are having a tough time winning games these days, and they will need to pay far more than -105 or EVEN money for me to be taking them. On Monday, they’ll host the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto has played really well on the road this season. Overall, they’ve also won five of their last six games.

I’ll offer Toronto as the second of my free picks since the price tag is so reasonable.

NHL Pick: Maple Leafs -111 at Pinnacle Sports

Nashville Predators vs. Colorado Avalanche

The Nashville Predators look like they’re worth the price of admission on Monday as they visit the slumping Colorado Avalanche. The Avs have lost four of five and seven of 10, and haven’t performed well at home this season. They’ve lost three straight at the Pepsi Center while scoring just four goals in the process. Nashville is more than capable of stymieing them and getting the job done here.

NHL Pick: Predators -115 at BetOnline
