There are just five games in the NHL on Monday and we’ve got four of them covered. Our pick on the Calgary-Colorado game is separated in its own article and we’ve got our daily three selections below.

Record: 112-131 (-1233)

New York Rangers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

The Rangers have won two of three since making their trade deadline moves (2-0-1) and they’ve allowed just four goals in the process. Next up is a visit to Toronto to face a team they typically have some success against.

I’ll add the Rangers to my NHL picks on Tuesday as they’ve won four straight visits to Toronto. Their offense is clicking and Henrik Lundqvist has been standing on his head recently. I’ll take a shot with them at a pick.

NHL Pick: Rangers -110 at BetOnline

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Boston Bruins

The Hurricanes are in a big slump as they’ve lost four straight and 11 of their last 12. There’s no way you can bet them in this spot as a road dog in Boston – even as much as they are paying out on the NHL odds. The Bruins have the best home record in the Eastern Conference.

The options in this spot are either Boston on the puck line or the under. If you like the under, you might want to keep in mind that Hurricanes goaltender Dan Ellis has a 3.61 GAA in his last seven and has given up seven goals in his two starts against Boston. If you like the puck line, you might want to know that only once in their last five wins have the Bruins won by two.

I’ll take a shot with the under in this spot.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at Bovada

Phoenix Coyotes vs. Vancouver Canucks

I think some bettors will like the Coyotes in this spot as they are playing what might be considered their best hockey of the season. They’ve won three straight and four of five. They’ve allowed just three goals in their last three and are offering as much as +160 as a road dog in this spot. Keep in mind that they’ve won four of their last five in Vancouver.

The Canucks are a big favorite because they are at home and have won eight of their last 10 games. Goaltender Cory Schneider has a 1.43 GAA while starting those last 10 games.

I’m not particularly interested in laying all of that juice with the Canucks so I’ll stick with the 'under' as the final of my free picks tonight as Schneider has been playing really well.

NHL Pick: Under 5 at Bwin
