There are three games in the NHL on Monday and we’ve got them all covered for you. Check out the Minnesota-Buffalo preview for details on that game and below we’ve got free NHL picks on the other two contests.

Record: 16-32 (-1269)

Detroit Red Wings vs. Boston Bruins

This will be the second meeting of the season between these Original Six rivals as the Bruins took the first matchup (at home) 4-1 on October 5th. This affair will be a 1:00 PM ET start, so make sure you get your sports picks locked in early.

The over-under on this game is set at five, which is probably a fair line but seems low considering the last four Red Wings games have seen at least five goals. However, their offense hasn’t been particularly fluid and Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask has been one of the best in the NHL to start the season (1.00 GAA, .965 save percentage).

Although we’re facing a low number on the NHL odds here, I’ll take the under.

Pick: Under 5 at 5Dimes

Edmonton Oilers vs. Washington Capitals

Two disappointing teams will square off on Monday as the Oilers visit the Capitals. Both teams have lost four of their five games and the biggest issue on both sides has been goaltending. People who make their sports picks have been surprised at just how bad Caps goaltender Braden Holtby has been after his good effort in the playoffs last season. He’s 0-3-0 with a 4.04 GAA and an .873 save percentage. However, that’s not so bad compared to Oilers lead goaltender Devan Dubnyk, who probably allowed another goal just as I was writing this. Dubnyk is has a 5.43 GAA and an .829 save percentage.

Given how both team’s goaltenders and defense have performed, I’ll add the over to my NHL picks.

Pick: Over 5.5 at Bodog
