Read why the Bruins injuries in goal are not going to sway me from backing them tonight, instead, let's make a better hockey pick between Minnesota and Boston.

2016-17 NHL Selection Record:  9-6   .600   +2.83 units

In a shocking manner, the Chicago Blackhawks failed to get the money for us last night as the Calgary Flames beat us, and them, in overtime. Unfortunately, we paid the price for a small schedule laying a heavy price. With much more to choose from tonight we will give out our biggest release of the season as you read on.

Before we do let's give you an update on the National Hockey League betting trends so far.

Home teams are still crushing the books with a record of 58-21-2-1 70.73% which makes me happy that we're on board with that trend tonight.

When betting the puck-line the results have been much different with the underdogs supporting a sparkling 57-25, 69.51% result. This tells us that just because we may like a home team lets not get greedy and lay the -1.5.

The 'over' still commands a small lead in 'Totals" betting but not what it was to start the season as their slim lead stands at 41-33, 55.41%.

Tonight the Bruins square off against the Wild who are coming off a lackluster performance against the New York Islanders.  In that 6-3 loss, Minnesota was clearly a step behind which may indicate some fatigue.

The betting public, as usual, overreacts to the goaltending situation in Boston as Tuukka Rask and Anton Khudobin are both sidelined opening the door up for P.K. Subban's Brother, Malcolm, who has just 32 NHL minutes under his belt.  It's well documented how he has struggled at the AHL level this year but he's a big kid with tremendous athleticism.  Even when I've seen him play poorly I never got the feeling he quit.  I'm willing to put my trust in him one more time.

As we cruise for the best hockey odds it appears that we can get Boston as high as +115. I would wait on this line because common sense will tell you that this number will only go up.

Against the Islanders, I saw a Wild team that came out and played their best first period of the season and then decided that 20 minutes was enough as they didn't battle for position in the slot area while failing to create traffic that often leads to scoring attempts.

The Bruins still have more weapons on the offensive end as David Backes (2-2-4 in 5 games) and Brad Marchand (3-6-9 in 5 games) have gotten off to good starts.

If you get to the best sportsbooks sites, some of them are offering a 50% credit on your initial deposit.  A great way to get a little bonus cash in your account.
