The San Jose Sharks are trying to find a level of consistency at the SAP Center and it figures the Coyotes are a great team to start that trend against. Join us as we find the MLB Pick for this game.

The San Jose Sharks are playing possum by saying that they're having a hard time finding motivation to play after locking up their playoff seeding.  Like always, the betting public hears that and runs to the window to bet Arizona.  The Sharks opened as -200 favorites and now have been all the way down to -185 on the NHL Odds.  A number that is usually out of our price range but for the sake of giving an opinion I'll be on the side of the Sharks tonight as the face the Coyotes who are finding it hard to find some self motivation because they will not be participating in this year's postseason.

Arizona has only won seven times in nine seasons at San Jose which is enough to offset the Sharks poor home record.  True the Sharks are secure in their playoff seeding but no team wants to start that part of their season off of a loss especially when that would mean the Sharks would have dropped four of their last six including a heartbreaker against Winnipeg Thursday.  After establishing a 3-1 lead the Jets roared back to hand the Sharks a 5-4 home loss. San Jose is now 17-20-3 at home.

The word lazy comes to mind when I watched the Jets game.  Their passes didn't have purpose which led to too many turnovers and the power play unit was non-existent giving up two special teams goals after posting a perfect 11 for 11 in their previous four games.

San Jose has beaten the Sharks in three of their last four meetings with two coming at home. Since January 2013 San Jose is a sparkling 12-3-3 against Arizona including a 6-0-3 run at the SAP Center. The Sharks dominance in the series can stretch back to 2007 where the Sharks hold a commanding 20-2-5 mark while riding a 10 point streak in the series.

Arizona has dropped the first three games of their season ending four game road trip while being outscored 14-6. Arizona has dropped five straight on the road dropping them to 13-23-4 away from the desert.

I'm guessing the 'Yotes will go through the motions in this one especially after the manner in which they dropped their last game against Nashville. The Predators forced overtime with just over 18 seconds left and then won it with a goal just 20 seconds into overtime. These are the kind of losses that carry over into a poor performance especially with one game remaining.

From a trend perspective it doesn't get much better for Arizona who are just 17-53 in their last 70 games against teams with a winning record. The Sharks have bounced back nicely after a poor defensive effort as of late winning four of their last five after allowing five or more goals in their previous game.

Let's back the Sharks tonight as our NHL Pick on this game and cash that ticket.
