Los Angeles and San Jose will meet on Saturday for the 12th time in the Stanley Cup Playoffs over the last 2 seasons.

Bitter Rivals to be Continued
The Sharks will host the Kings on Saturday at the SAP Center in San Jose, California with the opening face-off slated for 10:05 PM ET. This will be Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals for these teams with San Jose holding a 3-1 series lead. According to NHL betting odds the Sharks are a -160 money line home favorite and the posted total is 5.0. All 4-games played in this series have gone over the total.

No Quit in the Kings
The Kings showed some intestinal fortitude by coming away with a 6-3 home win in Game 4, and were able to stave off elimination. Now they return to San Jose were they were humiliated in the first 2-games of the series by scores of 6-3 and 7-2. The Kings not only have to overcome that mental obstacle, but also the fact they’ve dropped 11 of 12-games over the last 3 seasons at the SAP Center in San Jose. On a positive note, they’re coming off a momentum building win, and saw their star goaltender Jonathan Quick play his best game of the series thus far by stopping 36 of 39 shots on goal. The Kings are hoping that’s a good omen because Quick had been inexplicably unsteady in the first 3-games of the series, and especially in those played at San Jose.

Looking to Close the Deal
They say the toughest game to win in the playoffs is a series clincher. That statement certainly held true to form on Thursday night as the Sharks were thumped at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and have been forced to play a Game 5. The good news is they return home where they’ve been absolutely dominant versus their bitter division rival in recent years. San Jose has gone an outstanding 31-12 overall on home ice this season. The Sharks are also an extremely profitable 15-2 at home this season when the total is 5.0 or less.

NHL Betting System
Any team which is coming off a win by 2-goals or more, versus an opponent that’s coming off 3 straight games in which there was a combined 7-goals or more scored in each contest, has gone 82-49 (62.6%) against the money line over the last 5 seasons.

Free Pick: Kings +140 over the Sharks
