Offense Fails Again In Loss to the Ducks
Actually both the offense and net minding failed in the 4-1 loss to the Ducks on Wednesday night. That loss followed a 7-1 loss to the Capitals on Sunday. This is a team that is really struggling right now. Scoring the lone goal in the loss to the Ducks was Curtis Lazar, which was his 3rd of the year. The Sens have really struggled on offense of late as they have now averaged just 1.29 gpg in their last seven games. Ottawa was a top 10 offensive team, but now they come in at 12th in scoring, putting up 2.7 gpg, while converting on 17.8% of their power play chances, which is 20th in the league.

Craig Anderson took the loss vs the Ducks and he is now just 1-4 in his last five starts, allowing a total of 17 goals in those games. He should get the start here and is 7-10 with a 3.28 GAA on the road, while vs the Kings he has gone 2-11 with a 3.76 GAA. The Kings have called up Chris Driedger to take the place of Andrew Hammond who is away on personal reasons. If they go with him here then it would be his first career start. The Sens come in ranked 27th in goals allowed at 3.0 gpg and 29th in penalty kill , allowing teams to convert on 24.0% of their power play chances.

Kopitar Leads Kings over Red Wings
The Los Angeles Kings are quietly making a run at the points lead in the West as they now trail Dallas and Chicago by just five points after their 4-2 win over Detroit on Tuesday night. Anze Kopitar was the star for the Kings in that win as he scored once, while adding three assists. Kopitar now has 12 goals on the year and his 35 points leads the team. Also scoring for the Kings were Tyler Toffoli (20), Alec Martinez (5th) and Dwight King (3rd), while Milan Lucic had two assists. The win now gives the Kings 57 points on the year so far, which is good for an eight point lead over Arizona in the Pacific Division.

Jonathan Quick continues to roll along as he took the win vs Detroit and is now 7-1 in his last eight games and has allowed two goals or less in his seven games. He should get the start here and is 24-11 with a 2.05 GAA overall, including 13-7 with a 2.08 GAA at home and he is 5-3 with a 2.40 GAA in his career vs the Senators. The Kings check in at 15th in scoring, putting up 2.6 gpg, while converting on 20.3% of their power play chances, which is 8th. On defense they have been very good, ranking 2nd in goals allowed at 2.1 gpg, while ranking 10th in penalty kill, allowing teams to convert on 18% of their power play chances. Let's review the latest trends & NHL odds.

Ottawa Trends
1-9 in their last 10 road games
4-12-1 in the last 17 games in the series

Los Angeles Trends
9-2 in their last 11 home games
6-1 in their last seven vs. a team with a losing record

Betting Analysis
Can’t go against the Kings in this one, who are playing very well and will be taking on a Senators team that has been routed in their last two games, getting outscored 11-2 in those games. Now the Sens take on a hot goalie and their offense will struggle again, while Craig Anderson has just not been good at all this year, especially of late. This one has rout written all over it. Take Kings as your NHL pick.
